Clients Testimonials

I want to recommend your establishment to people who may have a handicap.
Our daughter is paralyzed and in a Wheel chair. At Natural Lodge she was very comfortable. She had plenty of space in her room to get to the bed and bathroom facilities. She had room in the lounge at mealtime and could easily move from place to place on cement walkways. The pool was a real treat. She can swim so with little effort she could get into the pool.
I do not know if Natural Lodge was constructed with handicap persons in mind but I can assure you that it accommodates them very well. By the way, when we were there was another guest in a Wheel chair.
We took her by car to the river and then a short walk to the water where the guide was on duty to help her for our river tour. Again thank you for your courtesy.
Sincerely yours,

“Worth the trip”
We just returned from Costa Rica about a week ago (mid Feb). What an amazing trip. Our stay at Cano Negro Natural Lodge was one of the highlights. We had a great guide on the lagoon tour and learned so much about the wetlands habitat – great pictures too. The lodge is as good as it looks in these pictures – crisp and clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet food was excellent – we did not try the a la carte menu. The gardens are just lovely. Yes, we will return to Cano Negro.

“Birdwatching Paradise”
My girlfriend and I took a three week birdwatching trip to Costa Rica and Caño Negro was our second stop. Though the area might seem a bit remote to some, I loved it here. Caño Negro is a VERY small town and it offered all the charm and friendliness that often comes with such places. The grounds are simply immaculate, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Jumping into the gorgeous pool after the 20 kilometers of hot, dusty and bumpy road was fantastic. The staff was charm personified. In particular, I want to point out Jessica at Reception and Edwin and Ramón from the restaurant. All of them seemed genuinely happy people who were great at their jobs. (On his day off, Edwin saw us out birdwatching in the town and took the time to walk over to greet us and ask how we were doing. A small gesture, yes, but it made us feel truly welcome.) The birding in Caño Negro was among the best we had in Costa Rica–my girlfriend and I consider ourselves “intermediate” birders and we listed 89 species in a single day without getting into the car! If you are coming to Costa Rica to see the birds, I wholeheartedly recommend Natural Lodge Caño Negro.
