About Us

In 1996 a young woman of only 27 year old, with the support of her parents opened a 10-room lodge, Her plan was to have a sport fishing lodge. Rapidly the vision change, Marina Zanirato, this young and romantic Italian girl felt in love with Caño Negro, with the wildlife and the community. 

We have refocused to embrace the wide variety of opportunities for visitors to enjoy the flora and fauna and local culture of the area. Photographers, wildlife adventurers, birdwatchers of all ages will find an expression of their passion here. With the growth of activities offered, arose the need to expand our infrastructure, which now includes 42 rooms clustered in the lush tropical gardens, a large restaurant, swimming pool with bar, as well as several boats to take our guest on wetland tours.
 

With a focus on growth and natural development of nature projects, Caño Negro Natural Lodge has created new jobs for residents of Caño Negro, giving them new opportunities and allowing them to learn new skills. These wonderful people now make up our entire staff here at the lodge, where they offer you a customized service that makes you feel at home.

To promote the fragile and beautiful area of Caño Negro, to teach our guests about our natural treasures and our culture, at the same time making their visit an enjoyable and relaxing experience. To ensure that our guest feel welcome and appreciated and when they leave to know that they will remember us with warmth and remember their stay with us as one of their all-time favorites.
